About me

I am a biologist by training and inclination, and I was a bench (neuroendocrinology of photoperiodism, primarily) researcher for about 25 years before I became more and more interested in the challenges of teaching and the fun of talking to other educators about them. At the Mathematics & Science Education Resource Center at the University of Delaware, my position requires me to provide professional development for in-service teachers, and to be a helpful partner in University outreach efforts, and to participate in the systemic reform efforts that occur at the District and state levels.

Things I do for fun and satisfaction: birding, explore family history, repair old clocks. Things I do for sort of fun, and satisfaction–volunteer work for Canine Partners for Life, primarily . Looking for other volunteer opportunities.
